I can’t stop going to school. I’m in my third year of a PhD program and because of my ever-present thirst for knowledge, my dad always told me that “someday, you’ll be smarter than a tree full of owls.” When considering new tattoo ideas, ideas that would honor people I love, I thought about this quote. I discussed the idea of different kinds of owls with my tattoo artist and we ultimately decided to do a couple of LARGE owls and small branches, rather than a large tattoo of a tree with small owls. This snowy owl, dedicated to my parents, is the first one we did. I later added a large owl below with cherry blossom branches. But this is definitely one of my favorite tattoos.
